The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (“MLMUPC“) has issued an announcement[1] informing the public about the implementation of the requirement to obtain a Construction Inspection and Certification Letter starting from 4 January 2022.
What is the Construction Inspection and Certification Letter?
The Construction Inspection and Certification Letter is a requirement put in place by the 2019 Construction Law to ensure, in its overall purpose, public safety. This requirement relates to the inspection and certification of construction design-related documents to ensure their conformity to all building technical regulations.
When is it required?
All construction owners or developers must obtain this certification letter prior to applying for a construction permit, demolition permit, reparation permit, construction site opening permit or occupancy certificate.
How to obtain it?
Construction owners and developers can obtain this construction inspection and certification letter from a professional or company licensed by the MLMUPC to inspect and certify construction work.
