Ira A. Eddymurthy is a founding partner of SSEK. She graduated from the University of Indonesia Faculty of Law in 1984, was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law from 1990 to 1991, and attended the Academy of American and International Law in Dallas, Texas, in 1991. She specializes in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and banking law, finance, including project finance, insurance and tax law.
Ira has been recognized as one of the top corporate, commercial and mergers and acquisitions lawyers in Indonesia by Chambers Global. She is acknowledged as a leading capital markets lawyer by the International Financial Law Review, Legal 500, Chambers Asia and Who's Who Legal. She has been endorsed by Who's Who Legal and Legal 500 as a leading banking lawyer, and by Asia Law & Practice as a leading restructuring and insolvency, mergers and acquisitions, IT and telecommunications, securitization and structured finance, and general corporate practitioner.
Ira was included in the TDH250, the elite list of the world's leading tax advisers, in the 2014 Tax Directors Handbook. She was one of only two lawyers in Indonesia to receive this honor.
She has written and published articles on Indonesian law in Capital Market Laws of the World (1997), Capital Markets Yearbook (1998), Banking Yearbook (1998), Mergers & Acquisitions Yearbook (2000), Global M&A Yearbook (2000), Doing Business in Indonesia (2004), Watson Wyatt Asia-Pacific Employment Terms & Conditions Report (1998-2007), the International Comparative Legal Guide to Corporate Recovery and Insolvency (2007) and Getting the Deal Through: Securities Finance (2007).
Ira is a member of the International Bar Association and the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA). A regular participant and speaker at IPBA conferences, Ira represented the Indonesian jurisdiction of this body from 2002-2008. She is also a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association and is licensed as an Advocate and Indonesian Capital Markets Legal Consultant.
