Linklaters has advised the bookrunners on the issuance by Huatai Securities Co., Ltd. (Huatai Securities) of HK$10bn 363-day convertible bonds. The bonds carry a zero coupon and zero yield to maturity.
The transaction is one of the largest 363-day convertible bond offerings in the Hong Kong SAR market in recent years and represents a continuing trend of issuers opting for short tenor equity-linked instruments. It further broadens the range of equity-linked financing instruments available to issuers in the PRC securities sector in Hong Kong SAR, further bolstering the sector’s profile in the international capital markets.
