Linklaters is delighted to announce that the firm has been named as Best Law Firm for Covered Bonds in the GlobalCapital Covered Bond Awards 2026. This marks the second year running that the firm has won the award, which is voted for purely by the market in a two-stage process. The award recognises the firm’s leadership and market standing within the covered bond market globally over the past year.
Linklaters has a leading global covered bond practice, having acted on the establishment of the first covered bond programmes in a number of jurisdictions and, in several instances, worked with issuers and regulators to develop the underlying legislation. The team advises issuers, arrangers and dealers across the full lifecycle of covered bond programmes.
In the UK, the practice is market leading. Linklaters acts on eleven of the fifteen UK regulated covered bond programmes, including advising Paragon Bank PLC on the establishment of the first UK buy-to-let regulated covered bond.
Globally, the team has advised on innovative programmes across Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, including DBS Bank, OCBC and UOB as issuers on six covered bond offerings totalling over US$8bn in the three months up to September 2026 under their respective global covered bond programmes, and on UOB’s €1bn dual-tranche euro offering — the first such transaction by an Asian issuer.
The global covered bond practice is led in London by partners Adam Fogarty, Lucy Sidey and Andrew Vickery, in New York by John Hwang and Derek Poon, and in Singapore by Jonathan Horan.
