President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree on the development ofd public-private partnership sector (PPP) in the country for 2024-2030. It is planned to implement 63 PPP projects totalling more than $30 billion by 2030. The key projects are:
1) construction of at least 100 schools and 100 pre-schools;
2) construction and modernisation of at least 1,000 km of modern toll roads;
3) transfer of all electricity and gas distribution networks to private operators;
4) modernisation of all obsolete irrigation pumping stations;
5) construction of modern hospitals;
6) construction of a new airport in Tashkent.
Each project focuses on developing critical infrastructure facilities, improving citizens’ quality of life and attracting investment.
