Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised former Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle MBE on the sale of Beth Tweddle Gymnastics to Gymfinity Kids, a leading provider of kids’ activity clubs.
The combined group becomes the UK’s largest provider of children’s gymnastics, with 11 activity clubs, the use of numerous community venues across England and 14,000 members.
Beth Tweddle Gymnastics was founded in 2010 to provide gymnastics classes for children aged 2+ at venues across the north of England. The company also runs a successful national curriculum programme to improve the provision of gymnastics in schools and upskill teachers through accredited CPD training, which will continue under the new structure.
Hill Dickinson corporate partner and Liverpool office head Matt Noon advised Beth Tweddle Gymnastics on the deal, assisted by senior associate Elizabeth Jones.
Matt Noon said: “Beth has been a client for a number of years, so we were delighted to help her and the team facilitate the sale of Beth Tweddle Gymnastics to Gymfinity Kids. The deal brings together two businesses that share the same ambition of improving children’s health and fitness, which is a fantastic thing to promote and develop.”
Beth Tweddle and her team will join Gymfinity Kids as part of the deal, with Beth becoming a brand ambassador for the group and director of the local community and national curriculum programmes, which will be rolled out at each of Gymfinity Kids’ clubs.
Beth Tweddle said: “Matt and Hill Dickinson have advised the business and myself for a number of years and provided first-class legal advice throughout. My particular thanks to Matt and Lizzie, who, as always, guided us through every step and played a key part in getting this deal over the line.”
