International law firm Withers has added to the strengths of its corporate and commercial services for private capital, entrepreneurs and founders through the arrival of partners Philip Watkins and Victoria Rodley in London. Philip and Victoria both join the firm from Brown Rudnick.
Philip and Victoria work closely as a team, having previously also practised together at Katten Muchin Rosenman and Hogan Lovells. They represent clients globally across a wide range of sectors, including retail, hospitality and leisure, brands and fashion, education and charity/not-for-profit. They cover cross-border M&A, private equity, takeovers, strategic investments, JVs, restructurings, re-financings, corporate governance, buyouts and exit strategies.
Philip and Victoria will join Withers’ well-established corporate team which specialises in the international representation of closely held businesses, founders and entrepreneurs.
Jeremy Wakeham, CEO of Withers’ Business division, comments: “Victoria and Philip are fantastically experienced corporate lawyers and trusted advisers to their business and private capital clients. We are the global law firm for private capital, helping the owners of businesses and investors around the world. The continued growth of our corporate team is an important part of our strategy to expand the range of services we are able to provide to our entrepreneurial and innovative clients.”
Philip adds: “Speaking on behalf of Victoria and myself, we are hugely looking forward to joining the Withers team. The firm has significantly invested in building an international corporate group that specialises in the representation of entrepreneurs, innovators and investors and this resonates with our own focus. We have always sought to create strong and long-term relationships with our clients, which is also the Withers way, and an ethos we very much share.”
