Our experience
We have extensive experience in all aspects of the negotiation and documentation of complex joint venture arrangements, particularly in relation to joint ventures for the development of commercial and residential property, mixed‐use developments, hotels and casinos.
Our team has a good understanding of the inter‐play between development and construction and related joint venture issues. We are also experienced in the associated structuring and taxation issues.
CASE STUDY
We advised Sekisui House Limited, Japan’s largest home builder, on its joint venture with Frasers Property Australia for the A$2bn mixed-use (residential, commercial and retail) development of the former Carlton United Brewery site in the centre of Sydney, Australia, the largest renewal project undertaken in Australia to date.
The project involved extensive legal due diligence, including real estate, environmental, planning and construction issues, followed by complex negotiations of the structuring, joint venture and nancing arrangements.
