Chambers Global released its 2021 guide ranking Baker McKenzie in 310 practice areas and in 385 lawyer categories.
Baker McKenzie upheld a strong performance with 20 new practice rankings in the Chambers Global 2021 Guide, including International Cross-Border Capabilities for Peru, Poland, and UAE, as well as new Band 1 rankings in China Capital Markets: Securitisation & Derivatives (PRC Firms), Egypt Projects & Energy, and UAE Tax practices, all entering the rankings table as Band 1.
The Firm also received 11 global-wide practice areas rankings in Bands 1 & 2, retained our Band 1 ranking for global-wide Employee Benefits (2020-2021), Employment (2010-2021), Intellectual Property (2009-2021), Tax (2016-2021) and TMT (2008-2021), and ranked Band 1 among Global Market Leaders for Climate Change, Franchising, and Outsourcing.
There were 26 promotions, including Asia-wide Capital Markets: Debt and Energy & Natural Resources, with an impressive jump from Band 4 to Band 2. The Firm also saw promotions for global-wide Banking & Finance, Islamic Finance, Competition/Antitrust, Corporate M&A, and Projects & Energy. Our India Dispute Resolution (Expertise Based Abroad) and Saudi Arabia Dispute Resolution practices also stepped up from a Recognised Practitioner ranking to Band 4.
