Hear from Stephanie Yip, Associate of Employment and Pensions Group, on the changes and transitional arrangements in relation to the upcoming abolishment of the MPF offsetting mechanism. Under the new regime, a Transition Date will be appointed, and the payable statutory severance or long service payment will be divided into 2 components i.e. the Pre-Transition component and the Post-Transition component. Although the effective date is yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated that it will not be earlier than 2025.
