Herbert Smith Freehills is pleased to announce the 2020 edition of the Guide to Restructuring, Turnaround and Insolvency in Asia Pacific. In its third edition the guide provides an overview of the legal framework for corporate restructuring, turnaround and insolvency in 18 major jurisdictions across Asia Pacific. The chapters include on-the-ground insight into the recent trends, developments and procedures for each jurisdiction and addresses key questions commonly asked when dealing with distressed corporations.
We believe this year’s guide is a timely resource for corporates, financiers, creditors, funds, directors and other stakeholders exposed to financially distressed companies in the region.
The challenges associated with successfully navigating restructuring and insolvency has been further compounded this year by COVID-19 related temporary or permanent changes to insolvency legislation. In this year’s guide, we have therefore included information on these COVID-19 related law changes, as well as the broader restructuring and insolvency reforms that have continued to be made across many jurisdictions in the last 2 years since the previous edition of the guide.
The guide provides an overview of the legal framework for corporate restructuring, turnaround and insolvency in 18 major jurisdictions across Asia Pacific. The countries covered are Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
