The Ministry of Civil Aviation has recently issued a draft notification proposing amendments to the Aircraft (Security) Rules, 2011.
The key impact of the proposed amendments is that an aircraft operator (who was earlier required to have its whole time employee as a security officer) can now enter into a contract for security services with a domestic airlines operator or an aerodrome operator and such contracted entity can (through its own whole time direct employees) provide security services to the aircraft operator.
The notification relating to amendment rules can be accessed here.
