Kirkland & Ellis is advising the special committee of the board of directors of NASDAQ-listed AirMedia Group Inc. (“AirMedia”), a leading operator of out-of-home advertising platforms in China targeting mid-to-high end consumers as well as a first-mover in the in-flight and on-train Wi-Fi market, in connection with its ‘going-private’ acquisition by a buyer group including Herman Guo Man, chairman and chief executive officer of AirMedia, Ms. Dan Shao, Mr. Qing Xu and certain members of the management of AirMedia. The Merger Agreement was announced on September 30, 2015.
The Kirkland team on the transaction is being led by Hong Kong corporate partners David Zhang, Jesse Sheley and Amie Tang.
