We act for the Taiwanese owners of a department store chain that operates an extensive network of branches under the “SOGO” brand name who have commenced a defamation claim against Mr George Quek, the founder and chairman of the BreadTalk Group.

 

Our clients have commenced a Singapore High Court action in defamation against a well-known Singaporean businessman Mr George Quek, the founder and chairman of BreadTalk. The statements made are in connection with the validity of the registration of a capital injection made to the clients and litigation in the Taiwanese courts arising therefrom. The case is currently ongoing.
