Skadden advised Edvantage Group Holdings Limited, a Chinese higher education provider that also operates a college in Melbourne, Australia, on its HK$ 712.5 million initial public offering on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Trading commenced on 16 July 2019. Edvantage Group intends to use the proceeds of the offering to develop its campuses in China, to invest in new educational institutions in the Greater Bay Area, and to expand its overseas operations. The transaction is Skadden's eighth successful Hong Kong IPO for companies in the Chinese education sector since its pioneering work on the first such listing in 2014.
The Skadden team was led by Hong Kong partners Christopher Betts and Edward Lam, with Counsel Anthony Pang (Hong Kong), associates Yadi Fan, Allan Wan, Ken Yeand Paul Lau (all Hong Kong), and trainee solicitor Tracey Lau (London).
