DivinaLaw Partner Atty. Jay-r C. Ipac recently shared his insights on the possible impact of artificial intelligence (AI) during the 6th Philippine Educational Publishers Conference (PEPCon) held in Pasay City. Over 100 delegates from various publishing companies as well as officials from the Department of Education and National Book Development Board attended the event.
Atty. Ipac discussed the business, ethical, and legislative implications of AI in existing laws in the Philippines. He shared possible concerns related to intellectual property, employment, consumer protection and data privacy, and the possible impact of AI on education.
Atty. Ipac holds a Master of Laws in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom where he finished with Distinction. He is the author of “Information Technology, Law, and Policy” (CentralBooks, 2023).
