Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is pleased to announce that capital markets attorney Antony Dapiran will join the firm as Of Counsel in its corporate practice on September 1. He will be based in Skadden's Hong Kong office.
Mr. Dapiran has advised on some of the largest and most complex initial public offerings in the Greater China market, raising in aggregate almost US$80 billion. He has led IPOs on behalf of three of China's "Big Four" banks (Agricultural Bank of China, China Construction Bank and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China), China Postal Savings Bank, China Everbright Bank, People’s Insurance Company (Group) of China, China Cinda Asset Management, China International Capital Corporation and Legend Holdings. He has also advised on inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions, debt issuances by Hong Kong-listed companies, and as corporate advisory counsel for numerous Fortune China 100 companies.

Mr. Dapiran previously was a corporate partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell in Hong Kong, and prior to that was the managing partner of the Beijing office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He received his LLB and BA (in Chinese) from the University of Melbourne, and certificates in Economic Law and Chinese Language from Peking University. He is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England & Wales, and as a legal practitioner in New South Wales, Australia (non-practicing).
Mr. Dapiran has been listed as a leading practitioner by numerous industry publications, including the IFLR 1000, Legal 500 and Chambers. Fluent in Mandarin, Mr. Dapiran has lived in Hong Kong and China for over twenty years.
