Clyde & Co Clasis Singapore, a joint law venture between global law firm Clyde & Co and Clasis LLC a Singaporean-registered firm has also made a round of Senior Associate promotions from 1 July.
Those promotions are:
- Kai Yong Tan – Corporate
- Jonathan Lim – Marine (Clasis LLC)
- Hailing Liu – Hospitality & Leisure
These latest promotions follow on from the promotion of new Singapore-based Partner Thomas Choo and Legal Director Junxiang Koh (Clasis LLC) in May, as well as the appointment of new Legal Director Charmaine Fu (Clasis LLC) who joined the firm in March.
Clyde & Co associated law firm in Malaysia, Shaikh David & Co (SDC), has also announced a round of partner promotions. The litigation and commercial law firm has promoted lawyers Gurmeet Kaur and Cahaya Narimas to the partnership. Gurmeet is a commercial and banking litigation specialist while Cahaya advises on shipping and admiralty law. Together they have almost 20 years’ experience and are well regarded by their peers and clients.
In November 2017, SDC began a formal association with global law firm Clyde & Co to enhance services in the insurance, transportation, energy, natural resources, banking and infrastructure sectors. SDC founding Partner Shaikh Abdul Saleem says: "The association has been a success but there is a lot more to be achieved. This partnership boost will allow SDC to better serve and expand services to our domestic and international clients".
SDC has grown by 30% in 2018. The addition of two new partners at the firm takes the partnership to four.
