Qatar’s North Field East LNG liquefaction project, carbon capture, and the future of LNG
In February 2021 Qatar Petroleum (QP) announced that it had reached final investment decision (FID) in relation to its US$29 billion North Field East LNG Liquefaction Project (NFE). An onshore engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract was awarded to a joint venture between Chiyoda Corporation and Technip Energies. In this update, we describe the project in the context of the predicted growth of the LNG market over the next two decades and the potential role of LNG in achieving net zero.

Chartered Institute of Building programmes for the future
In February 2021, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) launched the Planning Protocol 2021 (PP21). Unlike the name suggests, the PP21 is a best-practice guide for producing and assessing project programmes by reference to recognised industry standards. In this update, we explore some of the benefits the PP21 has on the construction sector.
