The first sessions of the 16th Beijing Municipal People’s Congress and the 14th Beijing Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference concluded shortly before the Chinese Spring Festival this year, and all issues on the meeting’s agenda were dealt with. Delegates presented their suggestions regarding Beijing’s economic and social development.

Ms. BAI, Tao’s presentation was entitled “Giving Full Play to Multiple Forces, Improving the Mediation System, and Creating a New Mediation Ecology for Commercial Disputes in Beijing”. At the free speech stage of the panel of the People’s Political Consultative Conference, Ms. De Lihua’s presentation proposed that Beijing-Hong Kong exchanges should be promoted in the judicial fields, and jointly submitted with other members a proposal entitled “Building the Resilient City of Beijing”. At the discussion stage for the Dongcheng Delegation to the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress, Mr. Shi Xinyue gave a speech regarding his comments on the work report of the Beijing municipal government, the Beijing Higher People’s Court and the Beijing People’s Procuratorate.
