Air Finance Journal recently announced their Rising Stars for 2021 and named Singapore Senior Associate, Amanda Teoh as Rising Star in Aviation Finance. This latest accolade follows Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021, recognising Amanda as a ‘rising star’.
Qualified to practice in England and Wales , New South Wales and New Zealand, Amanda is building an impressive practice in aviation finace. Amanda works for lessors, airlines and lenders on a full range of aviation finance matters from the acquisition, disposal and leasing of fleets to airline insolvency-related issues. She has expertise across multiple jurisdictions in Asia and has advised key aviation players such as CA-CIB, BNPP, AerCap, Singapore Airlines Group and Air Asia Group, amongst others.
Amanda was an integral part of the Herbert Smith Freehills team advising Bain Capital on its acquisition of Virgin Australia (which won the AFJ M&A Deal of the Year 2020) where she took a leading role in managing the due diligence process of the fleet and in managing a number of counterparts in the successful restructuring of the airline.
In addition to her client work, Amanda is also responsible for co-driving the firm’s pro bono practice in Asia and is appointed to the firm’s diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility committees.
