We are pleased to announce the admission of Helen Liao as partner of our firm with effect from 1 July.
Helen is qualified in both Hong Kong and mainland China. She focuses on cross-border employment arrangements, immigration and complex multi-jurisdictional labour issues arising from global talent mobility, and commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions. She is also experienced in employment law and payroll tax compliance solutions for cross-border employment arrangements, including labour assignment, placement, group-based personnel compliance management, company rules and egulations, resignation of key employees, and equity incentive plans. She also has extensive experience in handling internal investigations related to fraud, discrimination and sexual harassment. Helen is recognised by World Bank as an “expert” on China employment law for her regular contributions to the IFC-World Bank’s global “Doing Business” project.

A warm welcome to Alice Li who joined us as Counsel on 2 July. Alice obtained her LLB at the University of Manchester and PCLL at the University of Hong Kong.
Alice is a specialist in Corporate M&A and TMT matters and has extensive experience in advising international and local clients across multiple jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific region.
Her practice encompasses mergers and acquisitions, joint-ventures, commercial contracts, corporate restructuring, business investment and funding, data privacy, and IP commercialisation, with a focus on emerging and disruptive technologies.
