With nearly three decades of experience, Mr. ZHOU, Ting (Kenneth) advises clients on cross-border legal matters, bringing a global perspective and deep expertise in foreign investment, cross-border M&A, private equity transactions, as well as regulatory compliance and data security matters. Mr. Zhou is in the process of completing relevant transitioning formalities with JunHe.
Extensive Experience
Prior to joining JunHe, Mr. Zhou practiced law at leading U.S. law firms for more than 20 years where he served as a partner. He has advised Fortune 500 multinational corporations, listed companies, startups and growing enterprises on complex transactions across Asia and worldwide. Mr. Zhou has advised clients across diverse industries, including high-tech, media & entertainment, telecommunications, automotive, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, banking & financial services, publishing, engineering machinery, and consumer goods & services. He has assisted multinational companies with strategic expansion in Greater China and Asia, while also supporting Chinese enterprises in their “Go Global” initiatives in the US, EU and other parts of the world, including cross-border M&A, greenfield investments, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance matters.
Expertise in Cross-border Compliance
As a seasoned practitioner in cross-border transactions and compliance matters, Mr. Zhou is well-versed in the legal systems of China, the US and Europe with extensive experience advising industry giants and emerging tech companies on investment structuring, CFIUS and EU foreign investment reviews, export controls, merger control filings and economic sanctions. Mr. Zhou holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law, an LL.B. from East China University of Political Science and Law and has completed coursework at NYU Stern School of Business and Harvard Business School. He is dual-qualified in both China and the State of New York.
Publications and Professional Activities
Mr. Zhou authored the “Business Organization” chapter in Business Law in China: Trade, Investment, Operations and Finance (ICC Publication No. 672, 2nd revised edition). He has also authored multiple chapters, including the ‘Investment Policy’ chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce China’s Annual White Paper. His scholarly work is regularly published by Wolters Kluwer and Oxford University Press, as well as in leading legal journals such as China Law & Practice, Asia Pacific Antitrust and Trade Review, and Global Competition Review. These publications serve as key references for industry practitioners. An active contributor to professional forums and media platforms, Mr. Zhou offers expert insights into cross-border investment trends and compliance challenges.
Mr. Zhou’s arrival will further strengthen JunHe’s international practice. Drawing on the firm’s global network and resources, he will deliver high-value legal solutions and strategic guidance, empowering clients to navigate an increasingly complex global landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
